Solid Gold Easy Action

No apologies for another guitar blip. Although the new bass sounded ok out front on Saturday night, I could hear a buzzing from the amp through my in ear monitors every now and again. Consensus of opinion was that, after fitting the new pickup and taking the neck off to sand it, the action (the gap between the strings and the frets) had become too low.
So it was back to R&T this morning, with a request that they tweak the action a bit higher and generally check the set up. I left it with them and went for a coffee with Stu. Returning later I found that the guitar now feels - and plays - superbly, set up just how I like it. Big thanks to Vaughan for sorting it so quickly. No charge either - all part of the after sales service. Mind you, R&T didn’t entirely lose out this morning as Stu decided he definitely needed a Joe Bonamassa Les Paul that had just come in!
This afternoon I applied online to renew our Driving Licences. As we had only recently renewed our Passports, it was a very straightforward process and much cheaper than going to the post office. There was a warning that the new licences would start today, rather than when the old ones expire, but it’s all a bit academic as we are sadly at the age where we will hit the age of 70 before the usual ten years are up!
In an effort to stave off decrepitude for a little while longer, I went to the gym before tea. We’re off to London tomorrow and I want to be as fit as possible before indulging in three days of cooked breakfasts and fast food!
