Clay flowers
This is one of the clay flowers I bought on the weekend. Lady slipper orchids.
She puts the clay thru a pasta maker to get the flat sheets, then she cuts the pieces from sheet aluminum for the pattern and uses them to cut the design in the clay., then they are shaped and molded. It is very intricate work and she does a fabulous job. Here is the link to her FB page: https://www.facebook.com/chabaconrad
It's been a warm and windy day here. The fog rolled in last night and kept the temperature well above freezing overnight. By the time I got up this morning most of the snow was gone. When I was out this morning the temperature gauge in the truck said it was +15 C. Normal high temperature for here at this time of year is 3 C. The wind today was from the south and there were some good gusts. It seems to have died down now, I don't hear it howling.
Now that the snow is gone we can get the final garden cleanup done. I have it booked for tomorrow morning. Final job of the 2023 season getting done on Dec 12th. That is the latest I have done any gardening job. I had been talking to one of my clients about doing some leaf raking on a new rental property he owns, he decided not to get it done this fall but does want us to do it in the spring. So I have the first new property job for 2024 booked as of Dec 10th. And I have at least 3 of my workers coming back in the spring. I ran into one of the gals in the grocery store on Sunday and she told me she wants to come back when she gets out of university in late April.
