Towards Bantry
Here are some interesting facts:
The hill behind the town is called Knocknaveagh - Cnoc na bFhiach - Hill of the Ravens
You can see St Brendan's Protestant church with its tall tower
If you look very close you might be able to see the St Finbarr's catholic church up on the hill
On the left is SuperValu and the pier where you can catch a ferry to Whiddy Island
Veronica - you'll recognised the trio of brightly colours houses, one of which is a B&B
Amazingly a railway used to come right down to this pier now long gone
Bantry Bay is 35km long
Bantry grew rich on pilchards and linen production, both now finished though it is famous for its mussels
End of lesson!
