Tuesday: Pre-Murmuration?

On dry(ish) days, as the sun is setting, the local starlings start congregating in one of the tall trees near our garden. They are very noisy, each trying to out-screech their neighbours - when it’s almost dark, or enough have gathered, they fly around like a cloud, on rare occasions we see all the groups gathered together and sometimes a murmuration … but not tonight :-((

Very heavy rain overnight, continued for most of the morning too. Mild and no wind. MrD was pottering with his motorbike and I continued yesterday’s family history.
