Last Of The Year

Veterans Breakfast that is, thirty-one of us pitched up at the Norway Inn to enjoy some great company and good food. Over the last year we have averaged twenty-eight a month but those numbers bring their own problem, venues, so we are always on the lookout for more.
In the afternoon I dressed up warmly and headed off to watch the rugby. Ever the optimist I relaxed with some of the other ‘old uns’ before kick off where we almost convinced ourselves that “Tiverton don’t travel well”, the hope lasted minutes as Falmouth conceded the first try. From there it went downhill to the 0-46 final score.

For me the best part of the day was catching up with Jo, Sandy’s widow. Not going to lie, a bit emotional.

We then ran out of ‘Tribute’ pale ale so at six o’clock I headed home to dinner with Mrs S. I’d enjoyed catching up with the Thursday Gang and might have persuaded one or two of them back - we will see on Thursday.
