Hibernation disturbed
... for one wasp and a couple of houseflies, when we brought the artificial Christmas tree in from the garage. We already have a resident lacewing fly that keeps appearing and disappearing on different walls. But these other winged critters did seem a bit confused at suddenly being woken up. The wasp and one fly have been relocated outdoors, and the other fly is around somewhere, possibly awaiting transfer if and when it reappears. At least it's quite mild at present albeit damp, so they stand a fighting chance of finding somewhere else to overwinter.
My Extra I took from the car when a tiny spot of blue sky appeared in the sky. By the time we reached home, a few minutes later, the sun broke through. We had genuine sunshine (shadows and everything!) for about ten to fifteen minutes before the clouds moved back in. Never mind! In a little over a week the nights will start drawing out again. Hooray!
Red letter day: my sister and I both did Wordle in two today. (Different starter-words or it really would be uncanny!)
