Sedbergh WI Bookclub
Today’s tea is Lemon and ginger. Good for a cold day.
We had our final Sedbergh Bookclub session for this year. We had been reading Cilka’s Journey by Heather Morris's. It is the follow on book from the Tattooist of Auschwitz. When WWII ended, people who seemed to have been collaborators were then imprisoned in the Russian Gulags. Were they collaborators or just survivors? This caused a lot of discussion, and the way the prisoners, especially the women, of both the Nazi’s and the Russians were treated was appauling.
