Lucky Sighting of a Jay
Today we did our favourite walk in the Macclesfield area, over "The Hollins" (a hillside on the edge of town) to the village of Langley and then back along the canal (stopping, of course, at The Church House pub for a sandwich lunch). We were lucky to spot this Jay as we walked. It was a long way off: fortunately I had my long lenses with me although I still had to crop the photo quite a bit. I'm not very good at bird ID but my Editor confirmed the identification. I do like the "go-faster" stripe on a Jay's wings!
Later we visited an old friend of my late Mum-in-Law and we really liked the "crib scene" which she has on her wall - quite a novel idea for such a scene! It's in the extra.
