The Purple Book.

I have been using the Glasgow Cookery Book since 1984 (I used the one in the middle - you can just about make out the Sellotape holding it together!) Many mothers have given their daughters this book when going off to university or leaving home as it is full of 'basic' recipes and slightly more unusual ones (sheep's head broth anybody?)

Whilst having a little peruse on amazon, I realised they had brought out an up to date version of the book (no sheep's head broth this time!), so I had to have it. I also found the 1910 version on eBay.

These books form part of a large cookery book collection!
