Media star

S is back from his media round in Catalunya. Two talks in bookshops, and two TV interviews, one of them on the late evening news show Més 324 on 3Cat, the main Catalan TV station. The stakes were high! Luckily he got to practise on the lesser events before last night's TV interview, getting back to his hotel at midnight buzzing with adrenalin. Catalan speakers can enjoy the video here. (subtitles available to help a bit). His tiny publishers Sidilla (two people) have done such a great job getting media exposure.

We celebrated with dinner at Le Bastion in Lagrasse and a toast with glasses of blanquette de Limoux. I don't understand why they don't have even one Michelin star yet -- just a Bib Gourmand. Dinner was excellent, with a special mention for the cheese course -- slices of a hard cow's milk cheese with truffle-infused mascarpone and generous slices of truffle on top.Generous enough that for the first time ever I got why people rave about truffles -- I could actually taste them. And it's nice to have S back home :)
