Party time
Sue had invited all the friends and neighbours who'd helped her when Russ died to Christmas dinner this evening. There were 16 of us, and she had laid on a massive spread: prawns in garlic butter, duck pâté, a huge beef roast with all the trimmings including Yorkshire puddings, cheese, Christmas pudding *and* trifle. It was all delicious.
She insisted she needed no help preparing it but she had plenty of little helpers on the evening to serve up, and wash plates and cutlery between courses. It was a good chance to mingle and meet some of her newer neighbours that we don't know that well. We got home very late ... after 1 a.m., so the walk home was in pitch darkness (no street lights after midnight). Luckily we had our phones.
Blip by S, I took some photos but liked his better.
