Artistic Endeavour

This was Orla's entry into the Tesco Bank Art Competition for Schools, held in conjunction with the National Galleries. It's a picture of her visiting a giraffe in a zoo. She even wrote zoo, completely unaided. In addition to the first, second and third place entries, a further seven were given special merit in the nursery category. Hers wasn't one of them. Well, the standard must have been VERY high for this fabulous picture not to have been amongst those judged to be the best.* The winning entries are being exhibited until September, so we'll go and have a look over the holidays.** There were over 11,000 entries apparently.

*Orla's not bothered about the competition, just me with my competitive streak!
