Preening

I keep visiting the swans and I do hope the signets will hatch.
I've been. Watching them since mid April so the nest has been occupied for longer than we would expect.

The male has spent quite a while preening himself tonight.
I've no idea why. The ducks and pigeons just aren't in the same league as his good lady.......

Seeing him close up gave me a chance to see the beauty of the feathers.

The waiting continues.
