A long walk
This is a very late posting..
We moved from the Travelodge to my daughter and son-in-law’s apartment this morning. After we’d dropped our bags we set off to walk down to the bottom of Queen Street. We took our time as it was very hot and humid. We walked past Aotea Square and Smith & Caughey’s department store, then to the old Post Office at the bottom of Queen Street, which is now the Britomart Train Station. We went inside to have a look and discovered a lovely dome in the roof. As we looked around a young man sat down at the piano and played some tunes, which was rather nice. We did a small amount of retail therapy, bought a bottle of wine for dinner then visited a favourite café, Mezze, for a light nibble and a glass of wine, before walking back up the hill. There were six of us for dinner and we had a most enjoyable, although very late, evening.
The blip - Christmas tree in Aotea Square, the 12th Christmas window at Smith & Caughey’s, the old Post Office, the dome inside the old Post Office.
I am way behind with checking blip journals and responding to comments.
