Christmas Shopping

This is actually the second supermarket visit of the day - we did M&S this morning but they didn’t have everything we wanted so it was off to Sainsbury’s this afternoon. Naturally, this being Kendal in the week before Christmas, it was cold, wet and windy and there seemed to be a distinct lack of Christmas spirit amongst our fellow shoppers. Probably caused by the twin frustrations of empty shelves or - where there were items on the shelves - best before dates that were only a day or so away. So it’s either see if things can be frozen or resign ourselves to another shopping expedition at the weekend.
Besides the shopping trip, we had a PT session this morning and I’m going to Footlights Panto (Sleeping Beauty) tonight in Lancaster with some of the Blackadder cast to see our Bishop of Bath and Wells playing the king! And, no doubt, we will all go for a drink afterwards.
