Tim Laycock and Alastair Simpson preparing for an evening of music and readings from Thomas Hardy and William Barnes in the Tudor Hall At Athelhampton House . It was a perfect setting - so atmospheric and we heard ancient Dorset instruments too ! We heard the Humstrum played - quite a racket but Hardy and his family would have heard it on Christmas Eve . We are so lucky in Dorset to have so much heritage .There is a humstrum under the Xmas tree in the extras !
