Above the water level

This bridge is at the entrance to the lodges but during the wet season it is fully under water and there is no need to do the 5 minute walk to and from the jetty. There is much more water under it now than when we arrived.

This was our last morning in the jungle and we got up early to complete yesterday's jungle walk but I was feeling dreadful. The power had gone off around 1am so we didn't have the fan to cool us. I had a bad headache and felt quite dizzy and nauseous. We finished packing and had a leisurely start but the heat and humidity were intense. Our return trip was 2 hours to the port (canoe then speedboat) and then 40mins to the airport but I had started to feel better by the time we got on the speedboat. Another long day of travelling but we'll get to the capital late tonight.
