Cruise to the Pitons, St Lucia
Latest on the suitcase saga is no update!
Today’s Port: Castries, St Lucia. We were determined to start enjoying this holiday rather than trawl the area for clothes. We booked on an excursion on a catamaran to the Pitons, two iconic mountains in the south of the island. We just needed to find L a swimsuit to wear so she could enjoy the swim included. Luckily the duty free shops right by the ship delivered, along with some footwear for me.
The cruise was the most enjoyable part of the week so far, topped off by a swim from the boat in the warm Caribbean waters. It was warmer than the pool water back home at the gym! L didn’t want to get back on the boat.
We did have to laugh at the tour operator getting us to sign a waiver before we got on the boat. Some 100+ people were given a blank sheet to sign, with no view of what we were committing to as an agreement! Really wish we’d signed it Mickey and Minnie Mouse!
Finished the day with a meal in one of the alternate restaurants, the Olive Grove, featuring Mediterranean cuisine. Our lamb tagine was the best meal of the week.
Then up to a George Michael tribute act, who both looked and sounded the part. Best day so far.
