A Starry Night For The King & Queen & The Moon
Today's shot was taken outside the 16th Century King & Queen pub in East Malling on the way home from picking my brother up from the station. The title is a a bit of kidology on my part as the sky wasn't really starry at all - I just used completely the wrong film speed and it's a very grainy image but let's just go with the stars - I won't tell anyone if you don't! :-)
We stopped going there a few months ago as despite it usually having a good atmosphere on our Friday night visits as we were becoming somewhat underwhelmed by the greeting we were getting from the majority of the rather monosyllabic staff (there were a few notable exceptions which highlighted the lack of hospitality from the others even more), despite having frequented their premises for years, and the beer did not stand up to the quality we found elsewhere.
In the spirit of seasonal goodwill we decided to give it another try. My brother bought the pints and was happy to report he had a much better greeting from the barman on this occasion but unfortunately the beer was still not up to the mark - you really can tell the difference when beer is kept well and served at the right temperature. So the report card would still read 'room for improvement'.
