Improvised

More visitors for S’s mum, lots to do for R, so S and I took charge of dinner. Simplified Christmas dinner of turkey crown, stuffing, roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, sprouts, gravy. It came together with a surprising lack of fuss and all pronounced it delicious. Have I mentioned that among other crises, J’s oven stopped working about a month ago? Anyway among everything else, R managed to buy a new one last week and get it installed on Friday. I can testify that it works.

We oldies were all too knackered to think of dragging out the Christmas tree from the loft and decorating it. Young A decided this was not satisfactory and improvised with a pot plant.
