The Lazy Dog

…. just happens to be the name of the restaurant where we’re having breakfast.

It's our last day here - this afternoon we moved a few miles inland to the hotel we stayed in last year for D&V’s wedding.  I take a last walk along the beach and look back at our hut (see extra).

It’s been an experience. The most difficult thing to have deal with is living under a mosquito net.  Especially when you need to get up in the middle of the night.  As I do frequently.

On the plus side, proximity to the beach and especially the small saltwater creek that runs in front of the huts.  This morning I saw a kingfisher (not the beer) and a flock of very small wading birds.  About the size and colour of a pied wagtail but the shape of a typical wading bird.  Apologies to ornithologists out there - it’s the best I can do right now.

Yesterday was also an experience.  D&V hosted a Christmas Day lunch for about 20 people.  It was probably the hottest day so far and the power went off a couple of times which meant no air conditioning.  My dicky ticker went into overdrive a couple of times trying to cope.

In the evening we all went out to a music bar for Christmas Dinner.  Crowded, noisy but good company.  There will be a few sore heads this morning.

We will have a quiet night in, for a change - a couple of lazy dogs..  Hope you’re all enjoying Boxing Day.
