BOWNESS-ON-WINDERMERE
The sun was shining this morning, so Hubby and I decided we needed to go out and have a walk. G didn't want to go out today, his back was a bit painful so no point pushing it.
Hubby and I arrived in Bowness before 10.30, had a choice of parking and then just went for a stroll, past the ticket offices, where it was already busy, then up through the town. We went into the Urban Cafe for coffee a brunch. I just had French toast with fruit compote, Hubby of course has a bacon bap!! I'd not been in there before, the food and service was good it's just the muzac they play in a lot of these places, personally I'd just rather it was quiet so you can have a good chat. The cafe was quite full!!!
After that we walked back down through the town, past the lake ticket offices and on to Cockshott Point. It was a bit quieter there, although still quite a few people. We walked over the grassy field to the little beaches as they were very quiet. As we got there a rainbow appeared, it got fuller as we watched but we had moved by then and the photo isn't as nice (see extras).
A pleasant stroll. We walked back up through the park on Glebe Road, we were the only ones up there, everyone else seemed to want to be down on the main road where it was heaving.
As we left all the car parks we full and people waiting to park - time to come home. It started to rain as we drove home so it was a good time to leave.
Nice to get some fresh air and have a little bit of leg stretch.
Hope you all had a good Boxing Day. Take care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
