Seeking the calm again
Christmas was hectic. I was up at 4 am and cooked and prepared food and drink (including mulled wine) until 8 am. A quick breakfast and sit down for 10 minutes before a good clearing of the living area, vacuuming, washing floors, decorating a festive table and I was simply exhausted. The meal went well, but I know I will not do this again singlehanded. It's just too much without any help.
I do not have a washing up machine. I do not desire one, but all that washing up was depressing on my own.
A Facetime call from my son and his wife in Canada was a welcome distration.
I am being a moaning minnie, but I am being truthful. I won't host Christmas on my own again. We have to know our limitations, don't we.
I was in bed by 8:30 pm and I was up by 7 am this morning.
This afternoon was spent reclining, dozing and watching the Strictly Christmas Show and Call the Midwife, both recorded.
I received this very attractive wooden tree sculpture as a gift. So thoughtful with the little cat in the tree!
