Wednesday: #StormGerrit

After a restless night of waking constantly due to the weather, thank you Storm Gerrit, I got up at 7am but MrD was up before me!

When the weather had eased, around 9am, I dashed over the road to open the chicken coop - Merlin the cockerel and the 8 hens were glad to see daylight and busied themselves eating the grain I’d spread around their run, the corrugated plastic roof flexed a few times making an awful sound and made me jump …

Howling gale, heavy rain  - it didn’t get properly light either, we had the electric lights on all day.

To add insult to injury, I also had stomach ache - by late morning I felt I’d suffered enough and took one of my probiotic capsules followed by a herbal tea with honey and ginger.

Found the slim volume by Dr Kate Roberts - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2859174448727064982 - when I discovered we were related and other interesting information :-)

Around 1pm the weather calmed down for a few minutes. I chopped up a Bramley apple for the hens and sliced a very small carrot for the rabbit - the rabbit ate a small slither of the carrot, I broke up the rest for the hens, then dashed home as the rain started again … :-((

The story of my day: drinking herbal tea, watching the torrential rain and waiting for it to stop and reading a book very slowly :-)

ADDED LATER: around 9:30pm we had an almighty thunder storm, with sheet lightening, strong winds and torrential rain …

Love and hugs to all my family XXXX XXX XX

Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
