Wednesday: Ella’s Cool Spot

I’m off work until the new year so we’ve headed down to Hopkins, a couple of hours south of us, for a few days.  Before heading out, we had a lovely catch up with P&J in Vancouver.  It’s almost a year ago today that they came to visit.  

We’re staying in a nice resort that we’ve stayed in previously.  

It’s not quite tourist season yet so a couple of restaurants we had in mind were still closed for the season.  We had dinner at Ella’s Cool Spot instead - they were so slammed that our food took close to 3 hours to arrive (we were only having a burger and pork chop respectively so nothing complicated).  

Customer service isn’t usually a strong point in Belize but Ella, the owner, did come over to apologise.  Our meal tonight was on the house and she has asked us back for Friday for another complimentary meal.  

If truth be told, we weren’t terribly unhappy.  It’s a nice venue and we were just enjoying our drinks (although we did get slightly impatient around the 2 1/2 hour mark…..)
