Today's the day ........................ for a quagmire

It was a wise decision to wear wellies this afternoon when I went out for a walk along the River Dee.

The path was a complete quagmire in places and new temporary lochans had appeared in the surrounding fields.  Even the field that has had major drainage earthworks carried out on it recently looked as boggy as ever.

But then, that's what you get when you try to mess around with land which, after all, is situated on the floodplain of a river ...................!
