Waterlogged terrain...

...stopped play...

The forecast lied - we were due a window of sunshine at 1 o' clock, which was supposed to last for a couple of hours...

Instead it was just about long enough to lure five of us up to the petanque terrains for our Thursday  club session - the first since the competition before Xmas!

As the wind strength increased and the rain continued we battled on - no one gaining more than one point an "end". When we reached "four across" we decided one more end would decide the winner - so the two Davids and I won 5-4 ;) 

At that point the rain became hail and we decided enough was definitely enough!

To add insult to injury, I'd had a "wrong trousers" moment - I wondered why my legs were soaking wet, but I'd put my ordinary trousers on thinking they were a waterproof pair. We were dripping when we got home ;)
