Playing life by ear.

Watching.

This was yesterday. Grace was watching S who was waiting at the front gate. Somebody's ginger cat was sitting on the wall, watching her and I was enjoying the scene.
Later I spent a couple of hours in the dog free zone, clearing up the compost heap and preparing a vegetable bed, accompanied, the whole time by a robin. He lives in a corner of the garden, behind a palm tree and rosemary shrubs.
No walking today as I was feeling wobbly. In the afternoon on our return from a grocery stock up, the dogs, all full of glee, decided to race round the garden at top speed.
Grace came at me from behind, all thirty plus kg of muscle and bone and knocked me flying.
I hit the side of my face on the car, glasses flew, stubbed a big toe and hurt a knee.
Fast forward a few hours, glasses fixed, headache gone but big toe hurting and knee swollen.
Grace just doesn't see obstacles, just pushes stuff out of the way, even people.
Yesterday she was stuck in the back garden. She must have jumped over the wall to chase the ginger cat and couldn't climb back.
Baldrick is able to open the gate but she hasn't figured it out yet.
I don't know why they both chase the lizards but ignore the toad and fortunately, also the lovely robin. I don't know what would happen to the cat if they came face to face.
Life is totally unpredictable.
