Endurance
I've had a pottering day - hardly been out. I decided to tackle a DVD of the Shackleton mini series. I have been meaning to watch it for ages but hadn't got round to it.
It's an epic film of a story that is more amazing than fiction - the rescue of the crew stranded on the Antarctic ice when their ship is crushed in the iceflows.
The film has some beautifully composed shots. I don't very often post a Blip of the TV screen but I had to press the Pause button to snap this scene. So well set up and wonderfully lit. Reminiscent of a Joseph Wright of Derby painting.
It's a well made film with some great scenes.
