Bright, Brisk, Blue skies of Boxing Day
Morning dip, before breakfast. Much colder today, in and out. Stayed in for longer and really revelled in the feeling.
Hot drink and warm shower later, we bundled into two cars and drove to Kirby Lonsdale for a lovely walk into the market town, hot drinks and mulled wine at the Royal, back down a really steep hill with stunning views and along the river back to the car. Lots of photos and grandchildren walking with Nanny.
Cold meats, mash and pickles was a feast for today, followed by a Lizziemasu....She'd gone to make a tiramasu, but had substituted so many ingredients, she didn't feel able to call it the original name! Amaretto for Tia Maria, choclate chip and orange sponge for sponge fingers, almond extract in place of vanilla. Personally, I preferred it!
After a couple of quizes, rummikub, jigsaw and late cheese and biscuits, we went for a very late night walk to the bridge and beyond. Pie, the male cat came with us and FK played with him to entice him back rather than him carrying on to the farm where he was born. Mash, the more timid, girl cat was still snuggled up in the chest of drawers in the garage with a hot water bottle! Another wonderful day.
