I blipped this for BikeBabe, she being a Royal Enfield fan.

It’s Dan’s pride and joy.  He rides it to work most days and has done a few camping trips up into the highlands of Eastern Goa with his friends as well.

I too once had a Royal Enfield that was my pride and joy.  But that was a long time ago.

It’s the summer of ’58 (not a great song title) and I’m about to start secondary school.  It’s 5 miles away - longer by bus - so my parents buy me my first brand new bicycle. A bright red Royal Enfield, with white mudguards and dynamo lighting.  The memory is as vivid as the colour.

I was talking about this with my band mate Neil - him being a professor - and he was explaining that as we age our older memories become more prominent and our more recent ones fly out the window …. or something like that.  I’ve forgotten already what he said.  It was only a few weeks ago.

In the evening D&V pick us up from the hotel and we head to the beach to watch the sunset and have supper  (see extras).  Another fine day comes to an end.
