Today's the day ........................ for jam-making
What a wonderful thing a Freezer is?
Ours is not a big one - but it's big enough to put away some fruit from the garden as it ripens. Then on a miserable day like today, in the depths of winter, I can take it out and turn it into pots of jam. I made six pots out of our caseilles crop (I think they are called Jostaberries here, although these are proper French ones!) They are a cross between a gooseberry and a blackcurrant - and make an absolutely delicious jam.
And they will see us through the dark days of winter - with a real taste of summer - until next year's crop appears .......................
