On top of the hill

Two days ago, the big snowstorm. Today we decided to see if we could still find the snowshoe track we'd made a short while ago. Lower down, in the forest, it was easy to see but on top of the ridge it was mostly a very faint indentation in the snow. Even so it made life much easier than when we first walked this on snowshoes! And now it is once again well trodden and easy to use.
This hilltop is our end point. It has fine views over the valley behind Jan, and when the days get a little longer and sunnier, we sometimes sit here with a coffee, admiring the view and keeping an eye out for passing wildlife.
