Hogmanay in Dunedin, virtually

Lunch with P, and with Murray who is a New Zealander so we were able to celebrate the New Year at the civilised hour of 13.00 hrs.

The conversation made me look back at the photos from our New Zealand trip way back in 2011. One of the many highlights was walking along a beach in Ortago near Dunedin on Hogmanay and watching the Blue Penguins emerging from the waves and waddle across the beach up to their nests in the dunes. As I recall it was quite a chilly day for midsummer.
