Lochwinnoch

I had meant to do the NY Parkrun this morning, I’d failed to set the alarm and when I woke at 8 feeling hungry it was too late. It was a gorgeous day and I quickly got fed and sorted and drove to the RSPB reserve at Lochwinnoch. I don’t think I’m cut out to be a winter birder, too cold to be patient for long. Felt a bit warmer after a flask of coffee and Christmas cake.

It was great to walk along the new boardwalk out to the 16th century Peeltower. Even better was catching a glimpse of these Wigeon and what I’m fairly certain is a Goldeneye, extra.

Exchanged family greetings and watched a video clip of Lorne having a NY dip in Loch Venachar, without a wet suit, brrr.
