Met J & D for brunch as they were travelling north. I tried a signature hot chocolate with coffee (so a Ruby chocolate mocha, I think). We then took a walk up Calton Hill for the views. Chilly but bright.

Later I walked along in the middle of a closed off Princes Street (pedestrianised ahead of the street party) and was lucky enough to have timed it for Pulp sound checking ahead of their headlining of Hogmanay. Nice to hear Common People live. I'll happily stay in for the bells.
