The artist Valerie

Hello my friends ! Today is raining so the summer go and back you never know what to wear . some days bikini and 26 degrees and the next day coat , umbrela and 13 or so , it is incredible weather . So today is raining and it is teatime meeting with some friends .
This beautiful lady with blue eyes is Valerie in her house ( near to my house ) . She is a teacher retired and artist now. She is 80 years old and still she goes to art class every week . She is painting watercolours for 10 years . She is one of the best in the art class where I met her 1 year ago . She is living alone since her husbasnd died almost 10 years ago. I admire her. She is very independent and very active Lady ,(more than me hehe!). She is doing the garden, the shopping, the cooking,cleaning the house etc..
She said to me I treat her like a mother .I said I would like she was my mother. Sometimes I call her if she is ok or is she needs something because I am worrid and care for her . When it was snowing last winter she stayed at home for 3 weeks without going out . She was worried about falling with the ice and breaking some bones so I offered her to bring a little shopping when I went to the supermarket or my husband did.
She had only one son . He is married with 2 girls and they are living in London but they doesn't visit Valerie very often. Only every 6 weeks or so, for few hours .she told me that the son is very busy and she doesn't make any complaint . I feel very sorry for that, she is a lovely and kind Lady. I think she deserves to share her gran daughters and family more often. London is one hour and half driving from here.
Every Friday we use to meet for a tea affternoon and chat. She enjoys my conmpany and smiles with my stories a lot. One Friday in my house and another in her house and sometimes in Margaret's house another nice lady next door. I enjoy as well make some company to her and she makes she smile .
Well I ask her to take some portrait and she became red but she said it is ok if it makes you happy . I took some pics when she was distracted and relaxed reading the painting card that another artist friend sent to her . It was an invitation for her 8oth birthday this summer.
The card is an old garden door which I like very much. You can see it better in large. The lady which sent the card is another good artist and she sells the cards and paintings , calendars etc.. I like her work .
