Hogmanay Dinner

We started the day with a couple of games of Rummikub (with Cyclops - 1 all) then lovely hotel breakfast, then played Zombie Dice for a bit.  This was a gift for CyclopsJnr from his Uncles, and it's a great way of filling a spare 10-15 minutes.

After this CyclopsJnr went to kids club for a bit, where he seems to have played a FIFA game on a console as well as rampaging with the little ones around some sort of castle and ball pit. 

We had a game of air hockey before lunch, and after lunch CyclopsJnr and Cyclops went on the Ferris Wheel.   We went for a swim late afternoon and CyclopsJnr went on the slide many times, and also swam 10 (25m) lengths.   

We had a nice family game of Carcassonne, then went for dinner.  There the festivities really kicked off!  We all had fancy party hats on our seats, hooters which the kids blew persistently and joyfully, party poppers, and best of all, rocket balloons.  These whirred and squealed their way up to the dining room roof and around the chandeliers throughout dinner. 

After dinner CyclopsJnr played with some other kids for a bit (bashing each other with ballons) then professed himself exhausted and went to bed for a wee "disco nap".  We got him up at 11:30 in time to come down and sing Scottish songs led by the Ceilidh band, and experience the pipers and ballon drop at midnight.  He saw in the new year with orange juice (fizz for the grownups) and stovies before heading back to bed.
