Through the Winter Garden

Had a great morning with friends of Saughton Park as we did a bird and flowering plants survey. We noted an amazing number and variety of birds including 16 waxwings, greenfinches, bullfinch and more. 6 flowering wild plants were also recorded, including white dead nettle, ivy and dandelions.  This was followed up by refreshments in the conservatory.
The photo shows some of the group in the wintergreen which looked terrific with its different varieties of cornus, heathers, birches etc.
I don't have much planned for the rest of the day.
