The Old Manor
I was brought up not far from here. My paternal grandfather is buried in the churchyard in the next village, but I had never managed to get inside this fascinating old building.
It's now owned by the National Trust and has been lovingly and caringly restored. It is only open for two hours on Friday morning and for two hours on Saturday afternoon. But it is well worth the trip.

Norbury is on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border, near to the gateway to the Peak District. In the next village, there is a wonderful dining pub (high prices but outstanding food). The Duncombe Arms, also lovingly restored, served the second best fish and chips I have ever eaten. (I think it was the second best - my best ever was out of newspaper parked in the car on the South Shore, Blackpool, with two dripping mastiffs in the back and rain pouring down, after the dog show)
And add to all that, we had sunshine !
