Today's the day ........................ for patterns

These wooden poles were stacked up in a big rack in the yard of the local fencing contractor.  I think they are probably destined to be fencing posts around a field at some point in the future.

I don't suppose anyone will notice how beautiful the patterns in the wood are.  Just like a contour map of some strange and foreign land .................
