An ordinary life....

Ne'erday Walk...

We were all up bright and slightly breezy this morning :-)

The sky was blue and the sun was shining so after some coffee and toast we all headed off on the now traditional wander to Gleneagles.  In previous years I stayed behind to get brunch started but now I have my wheels I was able to join the gang.  Lola was very excited to have me there. She was walking at the head of the group (narrow pavement) with D and kept coming back to check I was still there.  It was so sweet.

What a lovely walk we had, passing lots of people who'd had the same idea, so lots of Happy New Years shared as we went on our way.  Stopped for the usual group shot and someone mentioned that Rod Stewart and his family were staying at Gleneagles.  Clearly no one told him we were in the vicinity or I am sure he would have rushed out for our autographs and the chance to join our selfie :D

It was a bit of a nail biter on the walk back as my wheels hadn't been charged overnight so battery power was low and bets were being made at which stage of the journey I would run out of juice.  Fortunately I made it all the way back home.

Once back we enjoyed bacon rolls and a cuppa while chatting about plans for the year ahead.

Agnes and Adrian headed off just after 2.30pm then it was a quick tidy up and change of bedding in the front room, and a tidy up of ourselves, before welcoming Andrew, Nikki, Esme and Jennifer and the festivities started all over again.

Esme was really taken with Alan's support worker Jordan and kept disappearing to have conversations with him.  I was glad I had prepped as much of the food for today's meal yesterday and it was just a case of getting everything on to cook.

Starters of Brussels pate, homemade smoked mackerel pate with oatcakes, and a large platter of melon, parma ham, mozzarella and basil oil went down well.  The butcher's steak pie was amazing as usual and of course D's signature creamy mash potato was as popular as ever.  Dessert came later as we were all too stuffed after the main course, but rhubarb crumble with custard and mini salted caramel tarts were enjoyed once we were settled back in the living room.

Andrew took Esme upstairs to bed and she was very excited to be sleeping on a blow up bed.  He got her tucked in and settled.  About an hour later he went to the kitchen and he thought he heard Esme's voice.  A wander up the hall found her sitting on the couch in the Team's sitting room, in full conversation with Jordan about the merits of maple syrup or Nutella with pancakes!  Hahahahaha....she was told to bid Jordan goodnight or there would be no pancakes or breakfast and she was marched back upstairs!  What a girl!

We had a lovely evening culminating in a Pub Quiz, where we astounded each other with our complete lack of general knowledge :-))))

In bed just before 1am, which was quite civilised.  Exhausted!  It's hard work enjoying oneself :-))

Happy New Year my wonderful Blip Pals, here's to another year of blipping together and seeing what 2024 has in store for us all.  I wish you all the very best that life can bring xx
