Au Bord de la Mer
We woke up to clear blue skies today and were up and out by 9am. We walked down to the Marina and along the promenade to the main sandy beach in the centre of Bandol - even at that time in the morning there were people on the beach. We stopped off at a beach cafe for a coffee and bowl of water for Louis, and then we took him onto the beach. He was very excited and headed straight into the sea - he's normally hesitant but it was very calm and shallow so he was quite happy.
Then we wandered back into town to the market to buy olives and tapenade, and called for a dirnk at Le Winney, a bar opposite the marina, and saw Vincent the owner who we've got to know over the last few years of coming here.
We came back to the apartment and had lunch on the terrace before going to the beach for a couple of hours - it was very quiet as it's not yet holiday season here, so it was very peaceful.
Anyway, we're now getting ready to go out for dinner - it's La Fete de la Musique tonight and there's a variety of free bands around town so the atmosphere should be good! Apparently there's even Zumba on the beach so I hope to be able to go and check that out - not sure I'll be joining in though if I've had a few glasses of wine :-)
Thanks for all your comments on my blip yesterday - I'm not able to reply individually, or comment as my internet data is running out rapidly, and I want to save it for posting my blips.
I'll catch up with you when I get home, but it's Friday, and I hope you have a great weekend!
