A walk - at last!
Shona whatsApped at 8am asking if I fancied a short walk so we set off on 3.5 miles along the road to Westhills and down through the field (blipped) to Ponchicherry.
It stayed fair for a change - she wore her wellies but I don’t have any - I can’t get my feet/ankles to bend into any. We had a good catch up - family, illnesses (they had Covid for the first time over the festive season so had to change plans and spend it quietly at home), music, books, art - oddly when I mentioned wanting to visit the Hindertwasser station in Germany she said she’s not heard of him till she read a book recently about someone interviewing him in NZ which is where I first came across him - on a wet day I went to his toilets when Mr C went to a car or museum. Also a friend who taught in Germany had a beautiful lamp designed by him.
In the afternoon I was at art appreciation which was about the Rococo period in France - Watteau, Chardin and Fragonard. After it Geoff checked my images would be ok on the screen there. I’m on next month and John said he’d do Caravaggio one month - he’s seen about half his paintings. Vivienne is going to take us to Alnwick Castle at some point to show us some of their art. We have to pay the Duke to get in so it might be worth joining Historic Houses then I won’t feel fleeced.
