16hrs at LSI

More gales, more rain, more dull January weather.

Up at 5am, early shift in the airport again.  A mix of jobs today, and a hectic day.  No weather for walkies this night, poor Sammy is not amused.  Finally got my feet up, cuppa and can't move.

After 16 long hours in the airport, I think I've covered almost every job on my job description.  The morning started with three heli check-ins and a charter.  Met and boarded the first flight, which was delayed due to crosswinds.  Various rushed bags arrived and processed, then up to work with oil and gas flights.  Back to meet and board flights, before a late lunch.  Glasgow returned to stand, fire warning signs came on.  Thankfully turned out to be wind blowing exhaust fumes into the aircraft.  A brief spell on the check-in desk, then met the last Edinburgh.  Our last Aberdeen flight was delayed due to weather, then couldn't land due to crosswinds again.  It was cancelled, rebooked passengers, sorted hotels and taxis, finally finished 16 hours later.  A long day, but glad I stayed back to help and support colleagues, and the disrupted passengers.  Please gale, do one now.  Tail of our Glasgow flight before takeoff, Sumburgh Airport.
