Flower Friday

I still have two living blue pansies but the flowers are ragged. A couple of neighbors still had nice flowers today. Supposedly we will have a storm this weekend but I think it is exaggerated clickbait. Maybe we’ll get an inch. 

I took this picture and I learned how to change the background in the editing program!! And then I didn’t like it so I just cropped in, but I learned something new!

Ukraine has had TWO strikes on Crimea this week and rumors are that one of Russia’s most competent military men, Valery Gerasimov, hasn’t been seen since. There is absolutely no evidence of this though. 

Ukraine says Russia has lost more than 6,000 tanks in nearly 23 months of war, Western sources say that is about right. 


Frustration of mine - there are all these reports of how terribly Russia is doing. They are losing so many people. They are losing so many tanks. They are losing all their best weapons. Their planes are not safe to fly in. But at the same time there are all these news reports about how Ukraine can’t possibly win, they are totally doomed. It is a continuation of the drumbeat that said they wouldn’t last a week. 


Why are they losing so many tanks? Bad organization, bad planning, bad training, they sent in their best tank guys at the beginning which meant when the war wasn’t over in three days there was no one left to train new tank guys. 


Ukraine is also losing tanks, but we give them new ones, good ones, not decrepit barely moving machines that should have been melted for scrap metal long ago. 


Supposedly Ukraine hit a Russian town called Belgorod twice. Well, the second time it turns out Russia hit it. A motor of a missile from Russia's air defense systems tore through a roof and into a child's room. There were no reports I saw of the child being hurt, but when they thought Ukraine did this there were lots of video and pictures posted. Once these were analyzed and they realized it was part of a Russian weapon, all such videos and pictures were taken down.
