Old Man of Coniston

Well, what a fabulous day - wall to wall sunshine, clear blue skies and frosty to begin with.

A drive into the lakes and we ended up firstly at Kelly Hall Tarn and then we ventured clockwise around Coniston Water, stopping to photograph Monk Coniston Jetty* and this is taken from the east side (after a tasty lunch at Brantwood) looking towards the Old Man.  Glorious.

* A young couple asked me to take a photograph of them.  He had just proposed, produced a ring (he is clearly a keeper) which was firmly on her finger, and she was quite overcome by it al and so excited.  Lovely.
