Hold it still

I am sure Gordon was doing more than just holding the ladder and joking with the guy doing the work - in fact he wasn't holding the ladder at all, it was perfectly stable without. Even though he lives just up the road, this guy knows what he is doing, after all it is what he does all day and he has all the equipment. 

I kept well out of it. I don't like to see trees cut down just because they are seen to be in the way - they weren't. I think they should be left alone to grow as they want, but I was outnumbered and it went ahead. 

Thankfully I could keep out of the way and didn't hear the tree crying because of the noise of the machinery. 

PS - I didn’t make it clear - they were only trimming the tops (by a long way) not taking them down altogether.
