Village hall life....

...into 2024. Despite it being a very icy and chilly morning there was a good turn out at the hall this morning which kept us volunteers on our toes!  The thumbnail shows Mavis who I think at 93 was the eldest there today, making the most of the social gathering that our Saturday mornings are! She, and many others have wonderful tales to tell and are super company. Mavis lives in the next village just about a mile away and drives along to the hall, the only driving I think she does now. She lives on her own and if I'm passing on any of my walks is often sat in the window of her house and is always delighted to say hello and invite you in for a cuppa. She still keeps herself busy, goes to the matting group, a lunch club every Tuesday and does all manner of crafting at home. Mavis is an inspiration to all who come into contact with her. Always a smile on her face and kindness in her heart, we all love Mavis and her love of life.
