First For A While

Not snapped one of my 'On The Edge' blips for a while. Perhaps I'll try a little harder to create a serious collection of them in 2024. Later on we went round to F's for game 20 of our Britannia series. A close game, with the perceived leading player (not the same as who is actually leading as you only know that when the scores are totted up at the end) changed as the game went on. In the end L's Green beat my Blues by just one point. Any number of dice rolls that might have gone the other way were the difference but the key round was probably when L managed to confirm Cnut as king after a one-on-one combat in south-west England and scored a crucial bonus. I'm telling myself it was that, and not the blunder I made in leaving William exposed to a Danish attack in the last turn. As well as the game some lovely food prepared by F and some good chat, which probably explained why the game went on until past 2am!
